New Year’s Resolutions for Vehicle Owners

As 2017 closes, many of you are making New Year’s resolutions. Here are a few for vehicle owners.

New Year’s Resolution Number 1: Get an Emergency Kit and Seasonal Gear

Nobody plans on having an accident, sliding off the road, or being stranded due to a blown tire or transmission failure. When it’s cold out, help could be hours away. Keep an emergency kit in your car that includes jumper cables, a foil blanket, first aid, a help flag, flashlight, etc. In the winter, make sure you keep a warm blanket, gloves and a hat in the car; in the summer, sunscreen and extra water. This small action of being prepared could mean the difference between hypothermia or sunburn (or worse).

New Year’s Resolution Number 2: Don’t Drive Impaired

While drunk driving statistics in Edmonton actually trended downwards this year, drug-related driving impairment is on the rise. Is your rush to get somewhere when you are not fit to drive worth somebody’s life? It’s not. Call a cab. Call Uber. Take the bus. Don’t drive impaired.

New Year’s Resolution Number 3: Take Care of Your Auto Glass

Driving with a cracked or chipped windshield is dangerous. It impairs your vision and those little dings can easily turn into an end-to-end crack. Crackmasters (Edmonton West End) fixes chips along with short and long cracks. If the crack touches the edge of the windshield, you need a replacement – we do that too. We also fix sun and moon roofs, passenger side glass, refurbish headlights and more.
